Dr. Maureen Nanziri Mayanja

Dr Mayanja is a researcher and academician with 13 and 16 years of experience in veterinary practice and academia, respectively. Maureen offers expertise as a university lecturer and veterinary socio-epidemiologist. Given years of confronting human behaviour in management and investigation of animal health, Maureen is passionate about enhancing the social dimension of animal disease occurrence and thus promoting a focus on integrating socioeconomic issues into veterinary epidemiology. 

Dr Mayanja is a sociable, firm but respectful professional with skills in agriculture extension education, veterinary practice, organisational change leadership in a non-government organisation setting, university student mentorship and supervision; Research Team Leadership & Execution of Participatory Rural-based Investigations.

Her ambition is to enhance the development of livestock keeping communities through university teaching and promote the field of animal health economics in decision-making for disease control at the farm and national level. Her dream is to engage in governance and leadership positions or forums that enable contribution to promoting research for use in enhancing livelihoods
